EAST students Jaycie Smith and Conner Stuard developed the HES Lost & Found Website, an online resource designed to help families quickly and easily locate missing items. After noticing how frequently students misplace belongings—ranging from jackets and lunchboxes to more valuable items like AirPods—they set out to create a more efficient and organized solution.

The website features regularly updated photos of items that have been turned in at the elementary school, allowing students and parents to browse and identify lost belongings from anywhere. If an item is recognized, families can submit a claim through a simple online form, making the recovery process faster and more convenient.

Jaycie and Conner collaborated with Elementary Principal Tara Gates to ensure the website meets the needs of students, staff, and families. With her support, they were able to make the platform accessible and user-friendly for the entire school community.

To bring this project to life, the students utilized a variety of technologies. They built the website using Google Sites, created a submission system through Google Forms, and used cameras to capture clear images of lost items for easy identification. EAST monitors and PCs were also used throughout the design and development process.

This project has streamlined the lost and found system, making it more accessible, organized, and effective for everyone involved.
