Leadership in EAST shines when students uplift those around them. Maddox Beaver, the 2026 recipient of the Lindsay Ball Parker Leadership Award, exemplifies this by consistently supporting others and making a positive impact.
“Receiving the Lindsay Ball Parker Award was so unexpected but also rewarding,” Maddox said. “To have other people see me and say, 'he is going to make a change, ' it really just boosts my confidence and my courage!”
Maddox’s leadership is evident in the way he interacts with those around him on a daily basis. He is known for encouraging his peers, offering support when needed, and helping to create a positive and welcoming environment within EAST. As a member of the 2026 EAST Conference Leadership Team, serving as an Ambassador Team member, he demonstrated extreme leadership while representing EAST and connecting with others.
Through his time in EAST, Maddox has taken on challenges that have helped him grow as a leader.
“My experience as a senior and on the leadership team was honestly refreshing, growing, and helped me understand that I can do things on my own and as a team! Especially when I know I'm moving away for college,” Maddox said.
Not only was Maddox named the 2026 Lindsay Ball Parker Award recipient and served as a dedicated member of the EAST Conference Ambassador Team, but he also made EAST history as the very first student to serve as the new EAST mascot, proudly bringing “BigE” to life.
“The mascot was so fun to be a part of, it was so cool to just shut up and have fun with everyone, especially when they didn’t know who was under the mask,” Maddox said.
Maddox’s journey in EAST demonstrates how initiative and enthusiasm can make a meaningful difference. Whether mentoring peers, representing EAST, or making history, he inspires future students to lead with the same courage, positivity, and commitment throughout his time in EAST.
“Advice I would give to new EAST members is, don’t ever limit yourself,” Maddox said. “This is the part of your life where you can be the best you can be. Then, as a result, you can see good things come to your community and classroom. Don’t give up on yourself!”
