The Jacket Commercial project has effectively inspired students' creativity and given them media production experience. Eden Solis and Kellie Kyle led this project, using it to improve their technical skills and engage their local community by creating professional-quality commercials.

During the project, Kellie Kyle and Eden Solis experimented with filming and storytelling techniques, which pushed them to go beyond their limits. They tried several camera angles, lighting, and shoot locations, each time finding out how the detail influenced the message of their commercial.

“Our hope for this project is to reach out to the community and showcase what we have been doing around town,” Eden said. “We want the commercial to highlight local spaces, creativity, and effort while connecting with people in a meaningful way. By sharing our work, we hope to inspire others, support the community, and demonstrate how much we have grown through this project.”

One main purpose of Jacket Commercials was to reach out to the community by putting a spotlight on local businesses.

The project called for a special presentation of Mathews Ridgeview Farms, a local business located in Wynne, Ark. as one of its main highlights. The business partnered directly with Eden and Kellie, offering access to their facility, staff, and operations for filming. Their involvement allowed students to feature real business activities, adding authenticity and helping connect the commercial to the local community.

Matthews Ridgeview Farms has continually expanded and received more recognition as the company behind the high-quality products and strong moral values. Such recognition is a sign of the skill and commitment that underlie every aspect of the farm's operations.

“We truly enjoyed having Eden Solis and Kellie Kyle with Wynne Junior High EAST at our facility and were honoured to participate in such a neat and well-executed commercial,” Mathews Ridgeview Farms said. “The experience was both enjoyable and rewarding, and we appreciated the professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail throughout the entire process. We were grateful for the opportunity that Matthews Ridgeview Farms was chosen for this commercial and are proud to have been a part of the project.”

Upon conclusion of the commercial, the two students have no doubt that they have grown as artists. The Jacket Commercial project is an excellent example of how student-driven projects can bring together skills in technology and community involvement in a very rewarding way.

“Creating the jacket commercial was a challenging and rewarding experience that helped me develop as a creator," Kellie said. “This project pushed me to think more intentionally about how a commercial is built, from shot composition and lighting choices to location selection and visual flow. I gained a stronger understanding of how preparation and collaboration impact the final product, and I became more confident in contributing ideas and making creative decisions. Overall, this project helped me grow both technically and creatively while giving me real experience working on a professional-style commercial.”
