Wee Little Wheels:

All the information:

Hi! This is our project called Wee Little Wheels.

It’s a mobility trainer for toddlers who are delayed in walking. Research shows that giving kids early opportunities for independent movement actually helps promote walking — not delay it — so we wanted to be part of that solution.

We partnered with MakeGood and used their open-source files to 3D print this trainer. It took us over 100 hours of printing and almost 10 rolls of filament, and we assembled it ourselves. We printed it in PETG, which is really durable and won’t soften in a hot car.

The coolest part is that a few years ago, we made our first version using lawnmower wheels, a cutting board, and a Bumbo seat. At the time, we thought it was amazing — but now, with better technology and more experience, we’ve created something much safer, stronger, and more adjustable.

We’re currently working with Children’s Therapy Team on our first placement, and we have the ability to build another one to expand our impact.
