The EAST Mustangs Sports Instagram Initiative is a student-led project focused on improving communication and engagement for Mustangs athletics through technology. EAST students identified a need for a central platform to share sports schedules, scores, and achievements with students, families, and the community.
To ensure the project was created responsibly, students partnered with the school’s IT Department to establish an official Instagram account. Through meetings with IT, students learned about digital citizenship, account security, and school policies related to social media use.
EAST students planned the type of content that would be shared, including game updates, athlete highlights, and event reminders. They used mobile devices, cameras, and digital design tools to create visually engaging and informative posts that align with the school’s identity.
This project demonstrates EAST principles by being student-driven, technology-based, and service-oriented. The Mustangs Sports Instagram account supports athletes and coaches while strengthening communication and school spirit within the community.
