Palestine-Wheatley Sports is a centralized website and mobile-friendly app developed using Wix to improve communication, accessibility, and community engagement for school athletics. Before this project, athletic information such as schedules, game updates, livestream links, and team details were spread across social media, paper flyers, and word-of-mouth, making it difficult for students, parents, and community members to stay consistently informed.
Using the EAST Initiative CART framework—Critical Thinking, Advance, Real, and Teamwork—the project was carefully planned and executed. Through critical thinking, the need for a single, reliable platform was identified after evaluating how athletic information was shared and what users needed most. To advance technical and design skills, the platform was built on Wix with a clean, mobile-friendly layout that organizes large amounts of content in an easy-to-navigate format. Features include athletic schedules, live score updates, embedded live streams, sports news, team rosters, and detailed player and coach profiles.
This is a real-world project developed for the Palestine-Wheatley School District Athletics Department and serves students, athletes, coaches, parents, and community members. The platform is actively used to share accurate, up-to-date athletic information and supports live events by allowing users to access live streams in real time. By centralizing information, the project improves communication, increases event attendance, and provides student-athletes with greater recognition.
Teamwork played a key role in the success of this project. Collaboration with coaches, athletic staff, and students ensured information accuracy and helped refine the platform based on real feedback. The final deliverable is a fully functional, maintainable digital sports platform that provides a long-term solution for the school and strengthens the connection between Palestine-Wheatley athletics and the community.
