Through the Generations

Our project is one that we are very proud of and excited to share. We have been working on a project put in place to benefit both us and another place of our choice which ultimately became Katherine’s Place on Weddington. To start the process of our project, we had to make sure that it fit the CART category. It did in fact involve “Critical Thinking” by figuring out how to execute this correctly and seeing what resources we would need; “Advance” by doing this project with Google to research, email and phone to communicate; “Real” by having a purpose as to why we wanted to do this project and why we executed it the way that we did as well as working with a community nursing home; “Teamwork” by collaborating with Katherine’s Place and working with each other and our elementary art teacher and students.

Our project is unique because unlike many other projects, we don’t do this just to benefit us and give us publicity. We also do this for the benefit of the community and our education, but most of all, for the residents of Katherine’s Place who we heard were needing motivation. We have been working on this project for three months (with other side projects and community involvement things in between) and we deeply believe that this project is very much worth the time and effort that we and our other peers (like the elementary art classes) have put into it. This project not only means a better education opportunity for us, but is also very beneficial to the residents of Katherine’s Place by giving them motivation and hopefully bringing them some joy throughout their day knowing that they have people who care about them and want them to succeed.

We also have promoted our project on our Facebook page! We are very proud of what we have accomplished and we will continue to work hard and put a lot of effort into this project and many more to come.
