EAST Ties

EAST Ties is a 3D printed template of a shoe with holes drilled where your shoelaces would go. This project is designed to help pre-k students learn to tie their own shoes and help give them that small sense of independence. When it comes to the CART our project goes above and beyond the requirements.

This project helps kids develop their fine motor skills and promotes problem solving of their level. This project was purely student led, researched, and completed with the help of Aaron Diggs creating the design with On Shape, and printing on our Bamboo Lab printer. Our amazing community partners were the TASD elementary schools who assisted us in solving this necessary problem. This project is separated from other projects by its ability to meet the kids where they are and solve a problem that's completely real and valid in their world. EAST Ties took about 9 months to complete in total.

As of right now our project has been posted on Facebook as well as Instagram to really get our project out in the open. We love the kiddos here in the TASD district and we aim to ensure their prepared for the bright future ahead of them.
