2023-24 Project Zoo: The Wild Side of Project-based Learning

The Little Rock Zoo, in collaboration with the EAST Initiative, is pleased to announce requests for proposals for 2023-24 Project Zoo. Project Zoo is designed for 3rd through 12th grade. Applicants are required to be a part of EAST Initiative to participate in this partnership.

2023-24 Project Zoo Information

Project Zoo partners the Little Rock Zoo with applicants interested in utilizing their classroom’s resources, time, and talent to help solve challenges at the Zoo. Applicants accepted into the program will receive guidance and advice from Zoo staff throughout the duration of the partnership. The targeted outcome is to develop unique and engaging student projects resulting in products used within Zoo functions.

Project Timeline

8/14/2023 Request for proposals announcement; application period opens
9/29/2023 Deadline for submissions
10/9/2023 Announcement for projects advancing to interviews with the Zoo
10/16/2023 thru 10/27/2023 Students will be scheduled a time to “Pitch your Project” virtually via Zoom to Zoo staff
10/30 Announcement for final project selection
5/2024 Projects completed

Submission Process

Application packets MUST be submitted digitally through the 2023-24 Project Zoo link found on the EAST website. This PDF is fillable and savable. Follow these general instructions for submission.
