The EAST Class at Har-Ber High School hosted the first ever “Run to Remember” on Saturday, October 31, 2009 on the Har-Ber campus.

On January 5th, 2009, Thomas Culp, an AP Biology teacher was killed in a car accident. Students in the EAST Lab at Har-Ber have decided to have a "Run to Remember" in honor of Mr. Culp.

"The race was to be similar to the Race for the Cure", said project leader Chase. All proceeds of the race are going to the "Thomas Culp Scholarship Memorial Fund". There was a 1 Mile, 2 Mile, and 3 Mile race. Well over 200 students and faculty from all over Arkansas participated in the race.

The students collaborated with city officials along with local businesses finding out information on what it took to put on a race. With street closure being an issue, EAST students solved the problem by having police escorts to guide the runners as they ran.

The race raised a grand total of $2163.98, after expenses. The students of the Har-Ber EAST Class plan on making the "Run to Remember" an annual event.
