Wonderview EAST students began a great tradition by walking with the Arvest team in the Race for the Cure.

On October 17th, 2009, Wonderview EAST took off on a bus at 5:30 a.m. We headed to the Susan B. Komen fight against Breast Cancer Race for the Cure in Little Rock, Arkansas. We joined the Arvest team for the the Sweet 16 celebration. This year was one of the fourth largest participations of all time.

The EAST/Arvest women started off close to the front and we walked the 3 mile walk together. There were eighteen women who participated for our EAST group. In addition, the men stood on the side and participated in the 3 Miles of Men. Seven men participated in our group. During the 3 Miles of Men, participants stood on the curbside and cheered on the women for being there and walking.

It's really a great feeling to be there with your friends, mom, or sister. Once we finished the walk, we were overwhelmed with happiness that we had just completed a 3 mile walk and donated money towards those who have breast cancer and to also help find a cure. Those who registered online for the race paid $26.00 and received a Race for the Cure t-shirt. Being a part of the Arvest team, we also received an Arvest team shirt. After the race was over, we got back on the bus and went to eat together at Larry's Pizza. It was a great time and we began a great tradition!
