In January 2015, the EAST Initiative and the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub, thanks to support from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation and AT&T, launched a unique learning space hosted by the Hub. That space, called the STEAM lab, is now a new center of learning for a broad community of visitors.

The STEAM lab is built on best practices developed over two decades by the EAST Initiative and, in fact, will look familiar to students in any EAST program as it is filled with much of the same equipment that is installed in EAST classrooms. The difference is that thisunique classroom is open to the entire Hub community. Adults and younger learners work side by side creating and innovating. Those who haven't been to the Innovation Hub yet may consider options such as a field trip, an after school program, or perhaps a full membership. 

To mark the anniversary of the STEAM lab, now up and running at full speed, Christian Sainz and a team of students with EAST at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock created a video, again with the support of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. See the video here:
