EAST students create videos, slide shows of Dardanelle area history.

DHS EAST students Tyler, Kyle, and Lacy recently presented results of their research about our Dardanelle community to the Yell County Historical Society.

Tyler and Kyle had created a video providing a grand tour of the community by “driving” the viewer to each location and providing voice-over narration. Their presentation was entitled Dardanelle, a Natural Community.

Lacy, working with Cornelia Daniels, a community historian, developed an impressive historical presentation about the community of Dardanelle. Her research took her back to the early l800s when the area was Indian Territory, and traced Brearley family genealogy. Lacy presented her information and video to the Dardanelle Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Mayor Carolyn McGee requested that these videos be placed in our regional library and be utilized at the Chamber to celebrate our history.

The students used Adobe Premiere video editing software, and Photostory 3 to create photo slide shows.
