Students travel to state capitol to film clips for Freshman Orientation video.

Star City High School EAST students Ashley, Allison, Madison, Taylor, and Cesily traveled to the state capitol building recently to film clips for a video they are creating for a freshman based project entitled Freshman Orientation.

The goal of their project is to inform the upcoming freshman in Star City about graduation requirements and the programs and opportunities that their school offers.

The students interviewed Governor Beebe about the importance of education and being prepared for your future. In the video interview, Governor Beebe stated, “Education is going to be the major key to allow you to make choices later on… So study hard, have fun and remember what you do from this point forward will have an impact on the rest of your life.”

The students also filmed the Veteran's Day Ceremony at the capitol and spoke with Senators John Boozman and Mark Pryor as well as the Director of Veteran's Affairs, Tom Thomas, about a possible future collaboration on a USO National Service Project. Mrs. Linda Kay Thompson is the high school EAST facilitator.
