Operation Christmas Child in full swing at Dumas High School EAST.

Dumas High School EAST has been working on a project called Operation Christmas Child which helps needy children from other parts of the world by filling shoeboxes with essential items for healthy living such as toothbrushes, shampoo, etc .

We have held two fundraisers to help fill the shoeboxes. Our first fundraiser was selling cupcakes and brownies made by Mrs. Dianne. Our second fundraiser was a car wash at Merchants and Farmers Bank on October 2nd.

We used Microsoft Publisher to create flyers to advertise our project and fundraisers. We have had a successful month so far because we have already collected $600.00 to buy the needed supplies to fill the boxes.

But everyone’s support is still needed. Our goal is to fill more than 50 boxes. Once we get the shoeboxes filled we will wrap and deliver them to Shady Grove Baptist Church, and they will be shipped to needy children in other countries.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped us with this project by buying cupcakes or having their car washed.
