The DHS EAST program collaborated with the school district's IT department to repair school-issued Chromebooks that were damaged while in student possession. The repairs included addressing issues such as broken keyboards, screens, Wi-Fi modules, speakers, and touchpads. Students gained hands-on experience in hardware replacement and utilized diagnostic tools to identify and resolve hardware problems. Throughout the academic year, they repaired over 100 Chromebooks and plan to continue this initiative in the upcoming year. This ongoing project provides students with valuable technical skills as they work alongside the IT department.
