Rock Creek Trail is an unmarked Eastern trailhead which was a hidden treasure near Bowman Curve and Markham Street in Little Rock, Arkansas. The trail is an accessible trail near some of the hotels and shopping centers in the area. The trail is managed by the Little Rock Parks and Recreations. It is a trail for walking your dog, biking, or hiking for a short distance. This trail is a scenic trail that runs along Rock Creek River. It has six bridges. The trail is a nice place to relax, and look at the beautiful sights. Rock Creek Trail has been an important part of our community. It helps protect habitats and helps people enjoy wildlife.

Rock Creek Trail was hit hard by the tornado on March 31, 2023. The trail, unfortunately, had to close because of the damage that was done. There are now fallen trees everywhere on the trails and along the pathways. Some trees have fallen on the bridges making them unsafe. Homeless people have begun to settle in on this trail. This has brought a lot of trash and junk to this once beautiful trail.

Rock Creek Trail is a 3.2 mile loop trail that starts and ends at different points. There are access points near Chenal Lake Apartments and along the power lines behind the Home Depot and Target. The trail has been closed since the March 31, 2023 tornado. A news article done by Channel 4 News of Little Rock, stated that the Little Rock Parks and Recreation are finalizing a grant to help get the park cleaned again.

Our first community partner is the Director of Little Rock Parks and Recreation, Leland Couch. Mr. Couch has helped us with learning about the future projects and how we can help with those projects. We have met with Mr. Couch at school and on the trail. We were allowed to survey the trail with the supervision of a Mater Trail Expert. We are looking is looking forward to our third meeting at the beginning o f the school 2024-2025 school year to continue our project. Our second community partners will be Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Some of our students are troop members of The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Once we receive the approvals we need, we will to work with those troops to help restore this once beautiful trail. While working together, troop members can gain important badges and patches.
