Nettleton Raiders from EAST and National Honor Society joined together to provide Christmas for families living in the Delta.

After attending a presentation on poverty in the Delta, Nettleton Raiders from EAST and National Honor Society joined together to provide Christmas for families living in the Delta. Students traveled to Helena to assist Together for Hope in making this Christmas season a special time for many of the area residents.

Students collected several hundred books during a recent book drive at the high school as well as coats and other items. All donations were were given to Together for Hope representative Catherine Bahn. Students were given the opportunity to serve as hosts for families who attended the event. They guided the families through the activities, served the family food, and encouraged family members as they participated.

Nettleton EAST class also participated in the event by adopting the card making shop. Students took supplies for the card shop and assisted the children as they made the cards for their family.  Students in EAST searched the Internet for Christmas verses, poems, and card ideas.  They used Photoshop to design the inside of the cards that could be used by the participants. Students took pictures of the event with digital cameras.
