Malvern Elemetary, Wilson Intermediate Schools’ Charity Fair Helps Others

300 people attended the Charity Fair held by Malvern Elementary and Wilson Intermediate Schools third through sixth grade GT/EAST students.

The Malvern Elementary and Wilson Intermediate Schools third through sixth grade GT/EAST students are making a difference. They selected a charity they wanted to help and held a fair at the Malvern Elementary School on November 30 from 5:30-7:30 P.M. Approximately 300 people attended the event. The students worked together in small groups to collect items or money for a number of different charities. The students were responsible for contacting the charities, making their flyers and posters, collecting the items or money, counting and recording the items and money they received, designing their booth for the Charity Fair, and creating a PowerPoint Presentation about their charity.

Following is the name of the charity, the group members, and the amount raised for each one:

 

 

 

Angel Tree-Damian, Bradley, Austin, Caitlin, and Veronica-80 stuffed animals; Red Cross-Cybil, Sydney, Jill, Victor, and Lauren -180 cans of food and $46.96; Hot Spring County Animal Shelter-Jared, Owen, Ethan, Patrick, Connor, and Colby -$78.36; Help the Troops-LTC Dennis Bailey-Zachary, Bronwyn, Yessenia, Michael, and Spencer -53 packages of gum, candy, and cookies; Lions Club-Anne, Kelsey, Andrew, Alexa, and Sierra-154 pairs of glasses and $34.55; Hot Spring County Museum-Kentrell, Haley, and Cailin-collected 26 cleaning supplies; Hot Spring County Animal Shelter-Sarah and Anjel-over 50 pet items; Stop Animal Cruelty-Isabella, Hannah, Keeley, Brent, and Cherish-20 rolls of paper towels and some hand towels; Read to Feed-Harrison, Abby, and Micah -$374.27; Kids Caring for Kids-Jaclyn, Aubrey, and Christina-$503.88; Miracle League Northwest Arkansas Field-Whit, Grant, and Will-$560; Labels for Education-Nathan, Braedon, and Austen -515 points of their 22,000 point goal; Books for Kids-Gavin, Austin, Hayden, and Garrett -203 books; Toys for Tots-Sable, Taylor, Leslie, and Sydney -over 60 toys; Ronald McDonald House-Taylor, Harleigh, Lindsay, and Courtney -over 5,000 pop tabs; Teddy Bears for Cops-Taylor and Kristen-over 900 stuffed animals; Multiple Sclerosis Association of America-Sarah and Olivia -$971.66; Miracle League of Arkansas Scholarship Fund-Jake, Zaine, and Tyler-$344.03; Hot Spring County Animal Shelter-Skyler, Dilyn, and Kaitlyn -35 items of food for the animals, toys, and blankets and $8.25; Race for the Cure-Micah, Megan, Octavia, and Davion-$60 and 12 large bags of aluminum cans to be recycled; Stella Smith Boys and Girls Club- Alex, Bryce, Chance, and Grady -78 crayons and coloring books and $100.15.
