Two new members joined the program team over the summer.

The EAST Initiative is pleased to welcome Alicia Humbard and Amy Bell to its staff. Both join EAST as program coordinators and will offer direct support to EAST classrooms throughout Arkansas working as liaisons to administrators, educators and students.

Alicia Humbard is a California native who grew up in Virginia and Arkansas. She comes to EAST as a career educator who earned a bachelor's in education from Ouachita Baptist University and a master's from Arkansas State University. She spent a decade teaching at Joe T. Robinson High School before working as an educational consultant and then in professional development. Immediately prior to EAST, she helped her husband, a physician, launch his own practice as part of the administrative staff. She and her husband live in Little Rock with their two children, 12 and 8, and they enjoy baseball, everything Disney and nerd culture.

Amy Bell is a lifelong learning junkie. Raised in the small town of Brinkley, she has lived in Harrison for the past 17 years. With a BA in English from Hendrix College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas, she worked in the legal field and economic development, before finding her passion in higher education. She recently moved to Central Arkansas with her 15 year old son and husband of 21 years. They spend their free time watching Dr. Who and exploring bike trails.
