Harrisburg High School awarded the EAST After Hours grant which allowed students to partner with Poinsett County Conservation District to map local irrigation wells.

In the spring of 2011, Harrisburg High School was awarded the EAST After Hours grant totaling $4,973.98. Students partnered with Poinsett County Conservation District to map local irrigation wells. Grant monies were used to purchase five new Trimble Juno SB GPS units for students to use while working on this project.  In late May, Brett L. and Jesse B. presented their final map to the local conservation district officials. The project is still ongoing as new irrigation wells continue to be registered in Poinsett County.
