EAST is excited to welcome the newest member of the EAST Board of Directors, Julia Lincoln Sites. Julia was a part of the very first EAST class at Greenbrier High School and brings to the Board a unique view of what the EAST experience can do for the future of a student. Even though she was only in EAST for one year before going to college, she feels that the experience and the opportunities that were made possible through her continued affilitation with EAST have made her life what it is today.

Julia shares with us the following:

"I am interested in seeing the program continue as I feel that it is the kind of learning that can reach a larger audience of young people. I think the traditional classroom has its place for some things, but overall, the classroom needs to keep up with the pace of the world around it. It is no longer enough to prepare for the working world just during college. I think the sooner children can be given responsibility, accountability and project/service-based learning, the more they will be prepared for what their future will actually contain."

Julia graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a degree in Computer Science. She is currently a Client/Server Developer and Analyst for Asynch Support for Alltel, Inc.
