Event featuring Beyoncé supports Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” Campaign to curb childhood obesity.

Forest Heights Middle School EAST has been selected as the official school representing the Little Rock/Pine Bluff broadcast market, one of 210 television market areas across the country, for this exciting event sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation.

On Tuesday, May 3, at 1:42 p.m. Eastern Time, middle school students across the country will simultaneously participate in a pre-choreographed “Let's Move!” dance exercise routine to specially recorded music by Beyoncé, .

Forest Heights EAST students presented a project proposal to their school superintendent to learn the dance routines and teach them to the cheerleaders, drill team and dance club at their school. The students are learning the dance moves with help from trainers from the Little Rock Athletic Club and will be on the sports field ready to perform on May 3. They are publicizing the event throughout their school by creating posters and flyers and are collecting video at all stages of the project to create a documentary of their experience.

It is expected that Forest Heights’ participation will be covered by at least one local television station, with coverage by popular radio personalities as well. NABEF will create a viral video including footage from participating schools across the country and also send video materials to broadcast and cable networks for potential coverage.

Although Forest Heights has been designated the official Let’s Move! Flash Workout school for this district, all middle schools are encouraged to participate!
