Proclamation is issued honoring students participating in “Greetings from Home” project.

Jonesboro's Mayor Harold Perrin issued a proclamation honoring those participating in the "Greetings from Home" project at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. The project was designed to send holiday messages to our service men and women.

Brookland High School, Jonesboro High School, Nettleton High School, Nettleton Junior High and Valley View High schools collaborated with KAIT TV’s Operation Holiday Hero and The Mall at Turtle Creek to support the troops. Mayor Perrin commended the efforts of these EAST programs for their work in making our community a better place to live.

Students from Nettleton Junior High, Nettleton High School, Brookland High School, and Valley View EAST programs were present to receive the proclamation. Students were recognized for their desire to honor the men and women of the United States Armed Services and for encouraging the citizens of Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas to join them in sending electronic greetings through the USO, video messages via KAIT TV and traditional greeting cards made by the students.
