Three dimensional, lightning, and light sabers draw Mena Middle School students into the world of special effects.

Students from Mena Middle School recently attended an After Effects workshop hosted by the Mena High School EAST lab. The workshop was held after school from November 9th through 11th. Instruction was conducted by master effects specialist Taylor of the High School EAST lab. Taylor taught the middle school students how to work in 3D, apply special filters, and create special effects using Adobe After Effects.

By presenting lessons that use 3D, lightning, and light sabers, Taylor was able to capture the interest of the students.  From there they are only limited by their imagination.

Taylor has been adding special effects to EAST lab video projects for at least three years. Some of his past projects include PSAs for the Stamp Out Smoking Big Pitch as well as presentations for the Mena High School EAST Conference team and Polk County Youth Summit.
