Funds are available to assist non-profit or charitable organizations (schools, libraries and clinics, etc.) in the acquisition and implementation of telecommunications or computer –related equipment.

The Arkansas Users of Telecommunications and Information Systems (AUTIS) is pleased to announce the availability of grant funds to assist non-profit or charitable organizations (schools, libraries and clinics, etc.) in the acquisition and implementation of telecommunications or computer –related equipment. Grant funds are made available:

• To foster the mission of AUTIS, which is “to promote the advancement of professional and technical knowledge in telecommunications, video and information systems management technologies.”

• To assist organizations in operating more efficiently through the use, acquisition and upgrading of technological skills.

Grant funds will be distributed as follows: combined amount of all grants awarded will be a maximum of $5,000.

Eligible Applicants: To qualify for a grant award an organization must:

• Be based in Arkansas

• Have a demonstrated need for funding

• Contribute to the health, welfare, or well-being of Arkansas citizens

• Use the telephone/computer equipment to enhance the quality/quantity of service provided

• Demonstrate a willingness to maximize the use of grant funds by matching costs

Deadline for Submission: April 1, 2011. Awards will be announced on or before May 3, 2011. Project year extends from June 1, 2011 – May 31, 2012.
