Emma and Sarah Bailin, who began there EAST experience at LIttle Rock's Horace Mann Middle School and continued it at LR Central High School, were featured on KARK, Channel 4 on Wednesday night October 8th.

The High School sophomores recently tied for first place in the Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival for their documentary, "Return to Sender."  In introducing the piece, KARK anchor Bob Clausen suggested that the Bailins would be the next Cohen brothers and credited the EAST Initiative for giving the girls their start in documentary filmmaking.   Courtney Collins interviewed the twin sisters in front of LR Central High.  The full story can be found on KARK's website at http://arkansasmatters.com/content/fulltext/?cid=126061.

We've always enjoyed watching films, but it wasn't until we entered the EAST program that we realized we didn't just have to watch them, we could make them as well. We could make films and do something the rest of the people weren't - we could bring alive something that was written.        Emma and Sarah Bailin, Sophomores, Little Rock Central High School, Award-winning Documentary Filmmakers Horace Mann Middle School and Little Rock Central EAST Students
